What is Giloy?
Giloy, also known as Amrita and Guduchi, is an Ayurvedic medicine that has been used since ancient times to increase immunity and keep the body healthy. It is a climbing vine that is mostly found wrapped around neem or mango trees.

Health benefits of Giloy
1. Increases immunity
Giloy strengthens the body's immunity system, which prevents viral infections, colds and flu.
2. Beneficial in fever
Consumption of Giloy in fevers like dengue, chikungunya, malaria and typhoid controls the body temperature.
3. Helpful in controlling diabetes
Giloy controls the blood sugar level. It is also called Madhunashini (destroyer of sugar).

Consumption of Giloy relieves constipation, acidity and digestive problems.

It provides mental peace and reduces stress, fatigue and anxiety.

How to use Giloy?
1. Giloy decoction
Drinking fresh stalk or powder of Giloy boiled in water increases immunity.
2. Giloy juice
Giloy juice is easily available in the market. Taking it on an empty stomach in the morning gives benefits.
3. Giloy tablet or capsule
If you do not like juice or decoction, then you can also take Giloy tablet or capsule.
When and how to take Giloy?
Drinking Giloy juice or decoction on an empty stomach in the morning is most beneficial.
20–30ml juice can be taken in a day (as per doctor's advice).

Precautions in consuming Giloy
Pregnant and lactating women should not consume Giloy without consulting a doctor.
Excessive consumption can cause constipation or low blood sugar problems.
